I seen this video and have heard that they have an electric car garage and i am willing to pay for the parts to have the students build my electric car. would love to find out how to contact them to allow this.

This is a great talk of somebody who knows what he is talking about. I really like the idea of caching energy in supercaps in order to be more gentle on the actual battery. Just as well as the crowdsourcing of the charging / managing algorythms. Keep it going!

Excellent talk, excellent project.I was happy to hear him mention noise pollution at the end. There are MANY people who are lower-middle class who are forced to live near noisy intersection, which lowers the quality of life. I experienced this for 3 years and it was miserable coming from a quiet home.There are so many advantages to EVs. I'm hoping for widespread adoption ASAP.

He was interrupted when he mentioned the NiM battery patents were purchased by the oil company to prevent them from being available for a car again (or him to be able to get replacements for his pack eventually) but it is a well known fact int he electric vehicle community.Good electric vehicles aren't not available because of tech reasons. As he points out he has had a RAV 4 for years. It's oil money pushing regulation which stops them. Always has.

If you are an Electrician with some hands on skill, and a pal who can weld, you can do/assist in EV conversions for part-time income. Some states, like Oregon, provide Tax Credits as incentives to do Conversions too. Selling removed parts can also help lower the cost,

Classic University fantacy. In a 'Real' 400v EV the supercap would cost $16,000... i.e. more than the cost of the battery it's trying to extend the life of. The experiment should've ended at the costing stage! |
